On May 11, a few days before the Dynamo home opener at BBVA Compass Stadium, Dynamo supporters group leaders met with Commissioner Garber and other League officials to discuss Dynamo fan misconduct at the 2011 MLS Cup, resulting sanctions on traveling Dynamo supporters in 2012, the formation of Walker End Houston, self-policing, and other supporter-related topics.
At the meeting, Walker End-affiliated supporters group leaders opened discussion for the possibility of sanctions (no drums or tifo for traveling supporters) being lifted for the July 7th Houston Dynamo-Kansas City game on the condition that affiliated groups adhered to League and stadium policies at home and away games. League officials expressed openness to revisiting the topic of our restrictions in the days leading up to the July 7th match.
Yesterday, MLS and Sporting Kansas City approved a request from Walker End Houston that allows traveling Dynamo supporters to bring drums and tifo in specified quantities to Saturdays match in Kansas City. Walker End Houston is encouraged by the improved communication with the League, and with roughly fifty Dynamo fans making the trip out to Livestrong Sporting Park, we look forward to providing the Dynamo with our full support in Kansas City this weekend.
